Today we’d like to introduce you to Dominique Hunt.

Hi Dominique, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Confident SOLE was a vision for years. I knew I wanted to help girls/women in some way but didn’t know what that would look like. Most girls go through a season in their life where they’ve dealt with low self-esteem or self-identity. I originally wanted to help women build themselves up but thought it may be best to start this process while they are still young. If we give them the tools and resources while their young, they can develop into strong and confident women. I began to reflect on my journey as a teenage girl and how much a program like Confident SOLE could have benefited my life. Growing up as black girl in the 80’s, I didn’t much representation in school, magazines, or TV. I wasn’t confident in my skin color, body type, or my ability to accomplish anything outside of sports. As I was developing Confident SOLE, I began to provide programming that would have been beneficial to my younger self, my pre-teen daughter, and my mentees. We began to provide classes on self-esteem, financial literacy, business, leadership, etiquette, and much more. We have impacted over 300 girls since 2017. Confident S.O.L.E aspires to improve young girls’ perception of themselves by equipping them with essential skills. As a result of intentionally investing into the girls’ inner self, Confident S.O.L.E. is expecting to see their participants cease the use of drugs and alcohol, decrease the number of teen pregnancies, and perform better academically.
